French Quarter Bar and Grill, Pompano Beach, FL
The French Quarter Bar and Grill in Pompano Beach is all about the “feel” of New Orleans’ historic French Quarter which is where you can be yourself and enjoy amazing food and drink in a fun and vibrant place. So it’s only natural that excellent food and good times often come to mind when people think of the New Orleans French Quarter. Here you’ll also find lots to enjoy from live music every day, to 26 HD TV’s where sports fans can watch every game and a covered patio for hanging out with friends.
For starters, The French Quarter adapted many of the signature dishes of New Orleans most famous restaurants and “dives”. Crescent City chefs shared their top-secret recipes for items on the French Quarter Bar and Grill’s menu. That includes Mike Serio’s fabulous “Muffuletta St. Charles”, which beat out Bobby Flay’s version on Food TV’s “Throwdown”. The onion rings are a homage to “Mandina’s” (on Canal St.) 1932 hand-made family recipe. Hurricanes are made from a mix concocted at Pat O’Brien’s and shipped to the French Quarter Bar & Grill so that you can taste the real thing. And it is served up in the trademark Hurricane glass for just $6--- a real value!
You’ll find crowd-pleasing offerings like the Jambalaya, a “true” Crawfish Etouffee in rich Cajun gravy, Red Beans and Rice with smoked sausage (a Monday tradition in New Orleans, but available every day at the French Quarter Bar and Grill), Manchac Grilled Chicken and a Mixed Grill. The Po Boys on crusty French bread include a ½ oyster and ½ shrimp version, as well as hot sausage, roast beef and even thin cut catfish as fillings to fill you up. The thin cut, crispy catfish platter plied high is clearly an ode to the crispy and flavorful catfish you’d find at Middendorfs on Lake Maurepas (North of New Orleans).
The menu balances New Orleans foods with American favorites like a Flat Iron Steak served with Chimichurri sauce, the Canal Street Burger with olives, corn relish and onion ring topping, Chesapeake Bay Crab Cakes, BBQ, Oysters (try the Black and Blue broiled version with crusty blue cheese topping) and an array of salads to which shrimp, chicken or fried oysters can be added. And no matter what you order, the portions fill the plate and most entrees are priced from $9.95 to $18.95. There are daily lunch and dinner chef specials. The kitchen is open from 11:30 am to 11 pm every day. Come for the critically acclaimed food--- the Sun-Sentinel’s Judith Stocks raved--- “great Crescent City classics at affordable prices!” And stay for the fun!
